The golfing legend; Tiger
Woods recently redeemed a spot in the top ten, after acing his fifth Masters
win. Tiger’s career has been an epitome of golfing excellence (apart from a few
controversies, which however are not relevant to the game), and his freshly
conquered comeback has refreshed his glory days.
Currently, ranking sixth on
the PGA global rankings, Tiger has come a long way from being ranked below the
one thousand spot in November 2017. Tiger endeavored to reclaim his former
position after going through a back surgery for the fourth time. Athletes of
the highest caliber are prone to injuries which have perilous consequences for
their careers.
Tiger’s moment of redemption
came to him, after an enchanting win at the Augusta International. This is
perhaps the most remarkable comebacks in the history of golf. Tiger’s moment of
glory last came to him back in 2008, when he claimed the US Open, this is his
first major title since then. The king of greens has to overthrow five players
before achieving the top spot, again.
Golf rankings have witnessed
fluctuations in the recent past; Dustin Johnson became World number one after
retrieving the title from Justin Rose in a week after his defeat. Brooks Koepka
stands at the third position, with Rory Mcllroy at the fourth, and Justin
Thomas at the fifth.
Tiger seems to be back in his
decisive form, let’s see if he is able to reclaim the number one position on
the PGA charts, or not.
